Artist Aloud Music Awards - 2015

What would headphones be used for if there was no music? Just to hear people rant about their problems? Let’s thank the almighty and the human being who discovered music. I am writing this with headphones plugged in hearing to some indie music by an independent artist. For all those who don’t know what music is, Music is an art form whose medium is sound, then what real music is? Music that you enjoy, music that soothes you and the music that connects with your soul.

Over the period of time music has undergone some critical changes but somehow the fundamentals are still alive. The transformation of real music to commercial music has been an instrumental change wherein we as music lovers are forced to listen to something that’s not great; we are missing so much of real music created by independent artists and I am of the opinion that such underground artists and independent musicians should be encouraged.

Recently, I was reading a article titled “Tune into the 4thEdition of Artist Aloud Music Awards” and was surprised to know that an award actually exists which appreciates and felicitates independent artists and underground performers. These Awards are given by Artist Aloud, known as Artist Aloud MusicAwards (AAMA), on an annual basis and this year will be the 4^th edition of the same. The idea behind these awards is to felicitate the best of independent artists and music released by Artists Aloud.

AAMA are declared on the basis of two phase voting, in the first phase Top 5 voted artists/songs are selected which then proceed to the second phase of voting and the second phase of voting will start from 29^th April 2015 and may end on 6^th May 2015. This second phase of voting will decide the final winners across various categories namely Best Song, Best Male, Best Female and Best Group. The top 5 nominees for winning the award across various categories are as follows

Bajate Raho Songs : Aye Zindagi, Manwaa, Cry, Maula, I'll never let you go

Best Female: Sujata Majumdar, Sonali Vij, Chaittali Shrivasttava, Itida, Shreya Ghoshal

Best Male: Anurag Dixit, Ayaz Ismail, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Kailash Kher, Zubair Ahmed

Best Group: Suryaveer with Ehsaas, Johnmpamei & the band, Sanjay k. ft. various artist, Sifar, Viraj Bahri feat Promila Bahri

The jury for these India Awards includes Mandar Thakur, Devraj Sanyal, Suresh Thomas, Andy Singh, Parag Kamani, Ashish Joshi, Anil Vanwari, Luke Kenny, Atul Churamani and K. J.
