So what is life? The process of breathing in oxygen and exhaling CO2? A fiction? A reality? Or the mere existence? Life is all about how you perceive the existence of other living beings. Life always has its twists and turns, if you take it as a problem, then you need to look for solutions and if taken as the outcome or result you need to consider the process. Too much of life here, let's hope for some life, positive approach and kindness there too.
I recently read "It Doesn't Hurt To Be Nice", a book by Amisha Sethi. To start with the book, I expected it to be a detailed story that narrates one's niceness but I was wrong. It's a story, but only an overview of one's life and detailed in terms of the learning's one can have from being positive and nice.
"It Doesn't Hurt To Be Nice" is very different than the regular reads. It talks about one incidence at a time, there is no suspense in it yet it keeps you thinking. You start expecting more from the incident, but they end right when they need to with the message, the message of being nice and kind. However, the best part about the book is that, it isn't preachy at all.
Kindness and being nice, why does the book talk about it at all? It's because Kiara (the main character of the book) comes across various things, events and moments in her that have inculcated the habit of being positive, kind and forgiving and those moments that made her believe in good. "It Doesn't Hurt To Be Nice" also focuses on the grave problem of we Indians not giving the importance and respect that our ancient literature deserves.
The book, "It Doesn't Hurt To Be Nice", talks about the importance and need of spirituality in one's life and is drafted with a sense of humor. The central message of the book, according to me, is that everything in our life from being kind, spiritual, happy, honest and all other good qualities are interconnected and the acquaintance with these qualities not only make you happy at heart but also creates a resonance with the quality of life.
The tonality and the language of the book is very simple, can be read by anyone and if you are a good reader, you can finish it in one single sitting or a maximum of two. Don't ask me my count, let me, blame it on my busy professional life :p
